What happens to the wood chips
A standard grind produces a substantial pile of wood chips mixed with soil, which is normal and expected. We can haul all of it away, leave it in place for you to use as mulch elsewhere in the yard, or spread a portion back into the hole and haul the rest — whichever you prefer. Let us know your preference before we start, since it's easier to plan for than to adjust mid-job.
Grinding near pipes, cables and irrigation
Underground utilities, irrigation lines and septic components near a stump change the approach. We ask about known utility locations during the estimate and grind more conservatively — sometimes shallower, sometimes with more hand-work — around anything flagged. Can you plant right over a ground stump?
